Queen Mother Congratulates PM on Receiving "Distinguished World Leader Lifetime Achievement Award"

PHNOM PENH: Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk has congratulated Prime Minister Hun Sen on receiving the Distinguished World Leader Lifetime Achievement Award from the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia-Pacific.

In a letter dated Monday, 19 December 2022, Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk wrote that she is pleased to hear that Prime Minister Hun Sen received the "Distinguished World Leader Lifetime Achievement Award" from the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia-Pacific based in Malaysia.

"I would like to congratulate the above-mentioned wonderful news and sincerely applaud Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo (full honorary title) for his noble merits, magnificent heroism, and his role as a wise guide in leading the Kingdom of Cambodia to peace, social stability, and national development in all fields,” wrote the Queen Mother.

The Distinguished World Leader Lifetime Achievement Award was presented by the Global Chinese Economic & Technology Summit and the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia-Pacific.

The decision to present this award to the Prime Minister of Cambodia was made after the KSI Institute studied and evaluated his leadership qualities and achievements, deeming him worthy of the award. The Institute noted the Prime Minister’s ability, wisdom, and conscience for the nation and people of Cambodia, acknowledging that he has been working tirelessly to bring Cambodia peace, tranquility, progress, and prosperity.

The signing ceremony, held at Phnom Penh International University, was officiated by Neth Pheakta, Minister of Information, and Tep Kolap, Rector of the university, with the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Information. </p><p>During the ceremony, Minister Neth Pheakta emphasized the critical role that human resources play in the development of Cambodia's information and audiovisual sector. He highlighted the need for higher education institutions, including Phnom Penh International University, to contribute to this development by creating robust curricula and providing specialized training to improve the quantity and quality of human resources in the sector. </p><p>"This cooperation will contribute to Cambodia's human resources and build successors in the information and audiovisual sector with quality, competence, and real skills," stated Minister Pheakta, underscoring the importance of this initiative in increasing public trust in the information sector. </p><p>The MoU is intended to strengthen partnerships between public and private institutions, catering to the evolving needs of the information sector driven by modern technology and artificial intelligence. The curriculum developed under this agreement will focus on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, encompassing a wide range of media-related subjects. </p><p>Core topics to be included in the curriculum are journalism, television production, digital journalism, public relations, advertising marketing, and interactive media.
